This course is for anyone interested in obtaining a pistol in New York. The course provides the required training as specified by the NYS DCJS and NYS Police.
Curriculum includes 16 hours of in-person classroom instruction and 2 hours of live fire training.
Certificate and letter outlining the course details provided upon completion which will be submitted with your application.

Designed to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to own and operate a pistol safely. Highly recommended for anyone shooting a pistol at any level. Great for the beginner shooter and as a refresher for those with experience. Includes live fire range time. Acceptable for most pistol permit applications. Firearm and permit not required.
The Utah CCW course provides non-residents the opportunity to obtain the Utah Concealed Carry permit.
You do not need a NYS permit to obtain the Utah Permit. Additionally, the Utah Permit is accepted by over 20 other states in the US. A great permit for anyone who travels.
Course is approximately 5 hours and includes all materials. There is no live fire or range portion required.

A foundation course designed to review basic firearm rules and begin to incorporate the mindset and skills needed to consider carrying your firearm. Topics include moral and legal issues, situational awareness, holster placement, proper carry position, firearm acquisition and introduce scenario drills. Pistol, holster (if you have) and 100-150 rounds of ammo.
NOTE: This is a prerequisite to Concealed Carry I & II courses.
An advanced course that covers various scenarios for training those interested in developing and tuning their concealed carry techniques. Brief presentation and overview, followed by various shooting drills to help improve your retrieval, presentation and shooting skills. Range time includes shooting on the move, situational drills and stress shooting. Pistol, magazines (min. 2), holster and 200 – 300 rounds of ammo required.
Course is designed to provide a solid foundation and review the basic fundamentals of shotgun shooting. Covers various shotgun platforms, shooting tactics, shotgun applications and cleaning and care.
Modern sporting rifles are a popular choice for firearm enthusiasts as well as for home protection. This course addresses the basic information needed to get the most out of your firearm. Training techniques, ammunition, loading, cleaning and handling are covered.
This instructor level training class is designed to provide experienced shooters with the information needed to organize and conduct the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course. Completion of the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course and other prerequisites are required. Attendees who complete the course receive certification from the NRA.
NRA Women on Target (WOT) shooting events give women shooters the ability to learn and shoot with peers in a comfortable and welcoming environment. 2BearArms conducts WOT events at a number of locations in the Hudson Valley and gives women the opportunity to learn, handle and shoot a variety of shooting implements.
